I provide in person consultations in Lewes and secure video consultations where preferred. Get in touch today using the email icon or the contact form at the bottom of the page. I am happy to offer a free initial telephone appointment to discuss whether we might be able to work together.

CBT has a significant evidence-base for effectiveness across a range of presenting problems and difficulties. It works by identifying the thoughts, feelings and behaviours people can be caught up in when they’re experiencing high levels of distress or a sense of ‘stuckness’ and beginning to test out and change some of these. It can help with problem-solving ability and learning new skills to help someone to cope with situations or experiences they find difficult.Sometimes people have developed coping strategies that were effective for them earlier in life but are less helpful now; CBT can work to help someone to change these and regain a sense of control and self-efficacy.

The IFS perspective considers that each human being is a collection of inner parts that ideally can be led by a core Self. Central to its philosophy is that the human mind is naturally made up of multiple parts and that this is necessary and not a sign of illness or pathology.Through life experiences these naturally occurring parts can become pushed into roles or hidden away in an attempt to cope with adversity. Over time this can cause inner conflict which can lead to limitations and distress for the individual.
The central Self cannot be harmed or lost but it can become challenging to connect with meaning that inner leadership can be difficult.IFS is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, helping people heal by accessing and healing their protective and wounded inner parts.IFS creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.
